Unknown to many, Pastor Mattew Ashimolowo, who after proper checks is rated as the third on the list of 10 richest pastors in Nigeria boasts of a multi-billion real estate empire that he runs simultaneously with his church business.
There have been reports that the cleric whose grass-to-grace story remains inspiring to many has called it quits with the pulpit in a bid to face his real estate business squarely, but in a statement released by the Church’s National Coordinator Femi Faseru and published on ENigeria Newspaper on Tuesday, it was dispelled as an unfounded rumour from the staple of detractors.
Pastor Ashimolowo – General overseer and founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), despite acquiring real estate at the age of 27, expanded one of his landed properties to include about 900 acres of land in the Mowe area of Ogun State, where he built six estates before moving on to acquire more parcels of land in Ibeju Lekki coastal area of Lagos.
In addition to owning several properties in Pinnoch Estate, Lekki, Lagos, where he lives in a luxurious, smart-enabled mansion, he also owns several acres of land scattered around Lagos.
Pastor Ashimolowo is also said to be building one of Lagos’s most prominent luxury estates.
ENigeria Newspaper reports that the luxury estate known as his Makarios Luxury Properties is a dream city that hopes to rival the Dubai Marina. It sits on 95 acres of land where many rich people are now buying service plots.
The estate, under construction by a German construction company, will feature about 10-floor high-rise buildings, 192 terrace houses, and 18 detached houses at completion.
The 71 year-old preacher who is married to his wife, Pastor Yemisi for 42 years, is also one of the biggest investors and owners of luxury apartments in Banana Island, Lagos. He is reported to have also earmarked almost 300 parcels of land on the luxury estate for sale. While he has a full-time pastor managing the Lagos branch of his church, his first son, Tobi, is in charge of the London branch and headquarters.
Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo is among Nigeria’s wealthiest pastors league with a net worth of $55 million. He is a famous man of God, a Christian author, a bible teacher, and a public speaker. HE assumed position of PFN President February 7, 2005, a position he held for five years. Pastor Ayodele Oritsejafor founded Word of Life Bible Church in Warri, Nigeria. He’s also a Christian author, bible teacher, and public speaker.
Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor is the founder and owner of Eagle Flight Micro-Finance Bank in Warri which houses the Church’s funds and enjoys patronage from wealthy members of his church, most of whom are oil company top shots among others.
Eagle Flight Micro-Finance Bank was reportedly hijacked by his alleged estranged wife, Mrs. Helen Oritsejafor and the development reportedly orchestrated a marital crisis with his wife, and to date, not much has been said about it.
