Audu was born on 6th November, 1980 in Kogi state Nigeria.
After his early and secondary education, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business economics in 2001 from the University of Leicester. He acquired a master’s degree from Henley Business School, University of Reading and went further to obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Oxford in 2013.
His father was the former governor of Kogi State, Abubakar Audu. Audu is married with children.
Shuaibu Audu has been an investment analyst with Stanbic IBTC at Lagos. He also served as an executive director of the bank’s assets management subsidiary.
Before he ventured into politics, Audu served as chief executive officer of the Stanbic IBTC Investment for about a decade.
He entered politics in the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was the party’s flag bearer for the Kogi State governorship elections.
In February 2023, he announced his intention to contest in the November 2023 Kogi State gubernatorial election under the Alll Progressives Congress (APC) but lost in the party’s primaries.
In August 2023, he was made Minister of Steel Development by President Bola Tinubu.
