The Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria, for an official visit. According to a press statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, Wang Yi will meet with the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, for bilateral talks focusing on strengthening relations between Nigeria and China
During his visit, Wang Yi will also pay a courtesy call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver a special message from the Chinese President. The visiting foreign minister was received on arrival by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dunoma Ahmed, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport
Wang Yi’s visit is expected to strengthen the diplomatic ties between Nigeria and China, with discussions likely to center on trade, investment, and cooperation in various sectors.
