Gunmen Kill Akwa Ibom Polytechnic Fresh Graduate

 

A fresh graduate of the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot-Osurua, has been killed by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers. The victim, identified as Prince, a computer science graduate, was awaiting mobilization for the National Youth Service Corps program when he was killed.

According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen gained entrance into the compound and moved straight to the victim’s room, where they shot him in the stomach at around 1 am on Thursday. The victim’s girlfriend raised the alarm, attracting neighbors who rushed him to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

The police have confirmed the incident, stating that there were robbery and cult-related operations in the area. An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing.

The victim was described as a popular and jovial person in the neighborhood, who was also an active member of a choral group in his church. His death has sent shockwaves through the community.
