Steve Harvey and his wife are currently topping trends across the world as their rumoured divorce hit social media during the weekend, leaving many in disbelief.
ENigeria Newspaper reports that even though the couple failed to come out straight debunking the news as many expected, Nigerian politician, Ned Nwoko released a statement on Saturday via his verified Instagram handle, adding that the news was the handiwork of fake news peddlers.
He wrote: “Fake news has been taken to new heights all over the world and this is so unfortunate. We experience this practically everyday and so when we read about our friend Steve Harvey and his lovely wife having issues, we had to contact Him and He confirmed that he and his wife are very much okay and it’s all fake news and should be disregarded. The family is happy together and we wish them all the best”.
This Newspaper however, compiled seven quick facts about Steve Harvey and Marjorie as seen below:
1. Steve and Marjorie Harvey first met in the early 90s at a nightclub in Memphis, Tennessee while Steve was still married to his first wife Marcia Harvey.
2. They had an instant connection and sparked a relationship but Steve was still broke and Marjorie walked away from the relationship.
3. In 1994, Steve and Marcia got divorced.
4. Steve met Mary Shackelford and got married with her in 1996.
5. In 2005, Steve and Mary got divorced.
6. In the Same 2005, Steve’s bodyguard suggested that Steve should reconnect with Marjorie.
7. In 2007, Steve married Marjorie and called her the true love of his life.
Marjorie is the only woman who has waited for a man to divorce 2 different women before settling down with her after meeting him while in his first marriage.
Marjorie is a record breaker and proof that true love can wait for as long as possible. (Jokes though)
Will Steve divorce a 3rd time? That’s a doubt. Even if there’s any truth in the rumours making rounds, we think Steve will do everything possible to make it work – because of his pride. No man goes through a 3rd divorce and gets a pat on the back, not in this planet though.
And about the rumours – if celebrity fake news lasts more than 48 hours without the celebrity directly refuting it, it’s either that the celebrity is behind the fake news for clout chasing or he’s enjoying his name going viral or there’s an atom of truth in it. And for those who would say – Steve can’t chase clout, his Twitter handler just admitted to making a post solely for clout chasing. Every big name needs clout to remain relevant. Even Ned Nwoko likes clout.
We do hope the rumours are fake like Hakimi… But if they emerge true, maybe the screen king should never consider remarrying again as many hold the view.
In a new development, Steve Harvey cleared the air over an alleged infidelity in his marriage with his wife, Marjorie Bridges.
The 66-year-old actor made the clarification on Sunday at an Invest Fest 2023 in Atlanta, adding that his wife never cheated on him with their bodyguard and private chef as erroneously reported.
He said, “Before I get started, just let me say, I’m fine. Marjorie’s fine.
“I don’t know what y’all doing, but find something else to do ’cause we fine. Lord have mercy. Man.
“I ain’t got no time for rumours and gossip. God’s been good to me, I’m still shining,” he noted.
Harvey and Bridges first met in 1990. The couple got married 17 years later in 2007.
Steve Harvey’s net worth is valued at about $280 million, per Celebrity Net Worth, his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a TV sensation is nothing short of inspiring.
