Sources told ENigeria News that Olusola Faleye, a graduate of Mathematics from the Ahmadu Bello University whose name appeared on the flight manifest of the ill-fated, Orbic Air’s Eurocopter EC 13 chopper that reportedly crashed with five persons on board, escaped death by whiskers.
According to reports, Olusola Faleye flew with Wigwe, his wife, son, and former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), Bamofin Abimbola Ogunbanjo from London, United Kingdom to Palm Spring, a city in California, United States, but opted out of the trip.
The source who gave the information noted that on getting to Palm Springs, Olushola declined to board the ill-fated flight headed to Boulder City in Nevada, insisting that he would not travel by Helicopter at night due to the weather conditions.
He, however, was said to have opted to travel by road, hence he escaped the air disaster, that reportedly claimed the lives of four others and his boss too.
ENigeria News has it on good authority that Wigwe, a big fan of the Super Bowl, the biggest sports ritual in America, had cleared his table to travel to California to watch a sport that helped him relax and rejuvenate and which he considers one of his guilty pleasures.
He left Nigeria on Wednesday for the Super Bowl as well as to attend to some business too, but sadly, he would not be coming back again.
Meanwhile, Access Holdings has reacted to the incident in a statement, saying however, that it lacked adequate information about the crash and was collaborating with the US authorities to get the updates.
