Shyngle Wigwe, a cleric at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in his 80s, according to informed sources has been rushed to the hospital after he reportedly slumped during the burial procession service of his late son at Isiokpo, Rivers State on Saturday.
You would recall that ENigeria News reported the sad news of the demise of Herbert Wigwe, his wife Doreen, and their first son Chizzy in a helicopter crash in America.
Herbert, his wife and son together with Abimbola Ogunbanjo and two other pilots died after a chopper heading to Las Vegas crashed near a border city between Nevada and California in February. ENigeria News reports that Wigwe and others left Lagos State, Nigeria, on Wednesday to watch the Super Bowl 58, an American football competition on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas but unfortunately did not make it to the sporting event.
Since news of his death hit town, it has ignited a high level of emotions among Nigerians in all quarters, some of whom have not stopped singing the deceased’s praises, citing his philanthropy.
ENigeria News understands that as against widely reported news in some sections of the media (not us) that Pastor Shyngle Wigwe is dead, he only slumped at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State during the funeral service.
This was made known by a popular influencer on X(formerly Twitter), Tony Ogbuagu who denied the purported death of the late billionaire’s father.
He wrote: “Herbert Wigwe’s father is not dead, please. He only slumped and has been taken to the hospital. Make una slow down with all these bad news.”
Meanwhile, a credible police source also dismissed the wild news outrightly, saying that Herbert Wigwe’s father was “Hale and hearty”.
The source added: “Even the Senate President (Godswill Akpabio) met and prayed for him.
“The story of Pa Wigwe’s collapse is false. We should allow the family to mourn its dead and not add to the pain by writing false stories,” the source added.
The remains of the deceased have been interred at a private cemetery within the Wigwe University premises in Isiokpo.
Dignitaries, guests, and hundreds of mourners were at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State for the funeral service of Wigwe, his wife, Doreen, and son, Chizzy.
