Abubakkar Momoh is a native of Imiegba, North Ibie Etsako East LGA of Edo State.
He grew up in his hometown but his educational details are not yet disclosed to the media.

Career
Abubakkar Momoh began his political career as a councilor to a local government chairman, thereafter chairman to Edo State House of Assembly’s member between 1999 and 2003 where he distinguished himself as one the most performing lawmakers in the state.
He represented Etsako Federal Constituency between 2003 and 2007 and spearheaded the election of Adams Oshiomhole in the platform of the Action Congress in 2007.
He was re-elcted into the House of Representatives in 2011 and 2015 and in 2019, he defected to the the People’s Democratic party ( PDP) to contest for Edo North senatorial seat but lost in the polls.
Momoh returned to the All Progressive Congress (APC) after he lost in PDP platform.
In August 2023, he was appointed the Minister for Niger Delta Development by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
