Biography
Mohammad Goronyo hails from Sabon Garin in Sokoto State, Nigeria.
He attended Kofar Marke Primary School where he sat for his First School Leaving Certificate and Government College, Sokoto for his secondary education.
He studied for a Diploma in Law at the College of Arts and Sciences, Sokoto before enrolling at Usman Dan Fodio university, Sokoto where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Law.
He went to the Nigerian Law School in Lagos and was called into bar in 2001.
After completing his tetiary education, he studied for a Master’s degree in Energy Security Management and a Master’s degree in Business Management Leadership at the London graduate School.
He also holds a Masters of Philosophy degree in Leadership and Strategic studies and currently studying for a Ph.D in Leadership and Strategic studies.
Career
Barr. Goronyo started his career in the legal field, he was a vital assistant registrar in the National Population Commission.
He was a card playing member of the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) before moving to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) where he was elected to represent Goronyo Constituency in the Sokoto State House of Assembly from 2007 to 2015.
Barr. Mohammad Goronyo has played active roles in the legal as well as the political cycle, he has worked in several departments including Solid Minerals and Natural Resources Development, Welfare and Rural Development, Haj Operations amongst others. While working in this departments,he handled important positions and his active involvement showcases his commitment and dedication to party development.
He also displayed his legal prowess while in the State House as he judged several cases, headed committes and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Deputy House Leader and Deputy Speaker of the House.
Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo has also served the public as Commissioner for Information of Sokoto State during Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s administration, Chairman, Publicity and Media Committee of the PDP gubernatorial campaign council before he veered to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
