Career
Idris Malagi began his career as a publisher, founding the Blueprint newspaper to his name in 2011.
He also chaired and founded the Bifocal Group after which he took over ownership of Kings Broadcasting Network, owners of WE 106.5 FM Abuja.
He was nominated as general secretary of Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria in December 2020.
Politics
Mohammed Idris was the Niger state governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 Nigerian general election.
He lost to the House of Representatives member Umar Bago who pulled 386 votes against his 154 votes.
He was the director of strategic communications for the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
Awards and titles
In recognition of his philanthropy and giant strides in the media and public relations sphere, the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakkar conferred on Mohammed Idris Malagi the traditional title of Kakaaki Nupe.
In December 2022, the Nigeria Union of Journalists honored him as the Miestone Recognition Media Icons in Nigeria.
