There are now emerging facts pointing to Osayande Obazee, President Tinubu’s special appointee investigating the Central Bank of Nigeria as an ex-convict.
The appointment of Osayande Obazee sparked heavy unrest and shock waves in several quarters with most billionaires who enjoyed largesse from the apex bank fidgeting and trembling for fear of being exposed and prosecuted.
Osanyande Obazee who was the Executive Secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) was said to have been convicted for sexually harassing his former Personal Assistant, Mrs. Abimbola Patricia Yakubu.
Obazee allegedly orchestrated the sack of Yakubu, a development that further expanded his woes.
ENigeria Newspaper understands that Yakubu pressed charges against FRC for wrongful termination of her appointment and covering up sexual assault by its leadership. And she eventually won the case in the Kano Division of the National Industrial Court.
Saharareporters reports that Justice Oyebiola Oyewunmi who tried the case, did not only order the reinstatement of the Claimant but also awarded N5 million in her favour against Mr. Obazee. The court in the judgment delivered on November 24, 2016, ordered the reinstatement of the Claimant with full payment of her salaries, including for the years she was away from work over the illegal termination.
The court found that Ms Yakubu “suffered unquantifiable mental and psychological trauma, low self-worth and dignity,” from Mr. Obazee’s treatment.
“I award the sum of N5,000,000.00 against the 2nd defendant for sexually harassing the claimant, discrimination against her, inhuman and executive recklessness of the 2nd defendant, thereby creating a hostile working environment for the claimant and for the violation of her human dignity and self-worth-respect,” the judge ruled.
With a tainted integrity, can Nigerians expect positive results from Obazee’s investigation? That’s the question now begging for an answer.
