Joe Ajaero, President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has been arrested in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
ENigeria Newspaper reports that Ajaero was arrested by heavily armed policemen at that NLC State Council Secretariat who took him to an unknown destination.
The NLC is leading a statewide protest and strike in Owerri over what it described as a lack of respect for workers, and unpaid salaries, amongst others.
