Super Eagles striker and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has revealed plans to invest in football club ownership, with ambitions to acquire teams in both Turkey and Nigeria, signaling a major post-career business strategy.

Speaking during a viral live stream with content creator Carter Efe and monitored by ENigeria Newspaper, the 27-year-old forward disclosed that his primary target is Istanbulspor, a historic club currently competing in the Turkish second division (TFF First League).

“I plan to buy Istanbulspor,” Osimhen stated during the broadcast, emphasizing his desire to give back to the sport that brought him international recognition. He outlined a vision that goes beyond a single acquisition, detailing plans to create a dual-club structure linking a Turkish side to a Nigerian counterpart in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Nigerian-based club, according to Osimhen, would serve as a scouting and development hub for grassroots talent.

“This domestic outfit would provide a direct pipeline for elite Nigerian talent to transition to the European stage via Istanbulspor,” he explained, highlighting his commitment to nurturing the next generation of African stars.

The move is supported by Osimhen’s substantial financial backing. Having secured a permanent transfer to Galatasaray for approximately €75 million, he remains one of the highest-paid footballers worldwide.

Already known for extensive real estate holdings in Nigeria and abroad, Osimhen’s investment strategy mirrors the Multi-Club Ownership (MCO) model increasingly adopted by elite athletes globally.

There are indications that Osimhen’s acquisition of a Turkish second-division club represents a strategic entry point into European football management, allowing for player trading, continental exposure, and a structured development pathway for emerging talent.

Osimhen’s growing influence in Turkey, where he has become a cultural icon since joining the Süper Lig, combined with his Nigerian roots, positions him uniquely to professionalize the pathway for aspiring African footballers.

Through this initiative, Osimhen aims to leave a lasting legacy beyond his playing career, bridging African and European football while promoting sustainable talent development across both leagues.
