President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday formally installed Tunji Disu as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police, performing the oath of office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The brief ceremony was held inside the Council Chamber moments before the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC). With the oath administered, Disu officially assumed leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.
The President also swore in eight federal commissioners during the same session — six appointed to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and two to the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).
ENigeria Newspaper also confirmed that top government functionaries witnessed the ceremony, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser, and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Esther Walson-Jack, alongside several cabinet ministers.
Proceedings moved directly into the FEC meeting after the inauguration, with most council members in attendance.
