Documents exclusively obtained by ENigeria News and shown below revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC has filed fresh charges against Jude Okoye.
The ongoing imbroglio between the Okoye brother, (Jude, Peter and Paul) may be far from over as fresh documents obtained by ENigeria News indicates indicates fresh filing of four count charges bordering on stealing among others before Justice Oshodi at the Ikeja High Court.
Jude Okoye who is already facing existing charges of money laundering, illegal conversion among others at the Federal High Court Ikoyi, Lagos was earlier today granted bail in what was described as stringent conditions by his legal team .
The earlier charges involve ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.
The EFCC also charged Jue Okoye and his company, Northside Music Limited, with acquiring a property in 2022 at 5 Tony Eromosele Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos. The property, worth ₦850 million, was allegedly purchased using funds that he knew, or should have known, were proceeds of criminal activities.
Delivering ruling on the bail application before him, Justice Alexander Owoeye ruled that the defendant must produce two sureties in like sum of N100 million each. The two sureties are to also provide documents of their properties, which must be within Ikoyi and environ among other conditions which also include a travel ban on the defendant.
You would recall that Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) in an exclusive interview told this newspaper that he is standing surety for his brother, and would deposit documents to one of his properties in Ikoyi as well.
However, in a recent development the EFCC also filed similar charges against the defendant at the Ikeja High Court where Okoye was meant to be arraigned today, after they failed to do so last week when the case came up first. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE DOCUMENTS
However, our correspondent who was in court today, observed that absence of EFCC’s prosecuting Counsel at the Federal High court today may have stalled the arraignment.
The Correctional Facility officials who were to deliver the defendant to Ikeja High Court claimed that a fresh order to produce the defendant before a new judge must be served on their superiors before he can be transported to Ikeja.
