Embattled former Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa declared on Thursday afternoon that he is back as Speaker of the troubled Assembly.
Earlier on Thursday, ENigeria News reported that the ousted Speaker, Obasa stormed the Lagos Assembly in a gestapo manner along with a retinue of heavily armed Police officers, shooting sporadically into the air and causing apprehension.
Upon arriving the Assembly complex, Obasa was seen walking straight to the office of Speaker, Mojisola Meranda whose security aides have already been withdrawn by the Police.
Declaring further, the ousted Speaker stated that he has resumed his position as the parliament leader.
“I’ve resumed, and I remain the Speaker of the Assembly”.
Meanwhile other Assembly members where not sighted on the scene at the time, as some of them were said to be in hiding.
