Iran has accused the United States and Israel of breaching the terms of the two-week temporary ceasefire brokered by Pakistan, alleging that three clauses in their 10-point proposal were violated, ENigeria Newspaper has learnt.

In a post on X on Wednesday, Iranian Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the violations included non-compliance with “the first clause,” which concerns the ceasefire in Lebanon and was among Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s commitments.”

Ghalibaf also cited the entry of an intruding drone into the Middle East country’s airspace, which he said was destroyed in the city of Lar in Fars Province.

He further stated that the third infraction was the denial of Iran’s right to enrichment, which was included in the sixth clause of the framework.

According to Ghalibaf, with the “workable basis on which to negotiate” openly violated even before negotiations began, a ceasefire or negotiations “is unreasonable.”

The White House dismissed Iran’s initial proposal on Wednesday, calling it “fundamentally unserious, unacceptable, and completely discarded.”

“It was literally thrown in the garbage by President Donald Trump and his negotiating team,” said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, addressing reporters.

Leavitt added that the Iranian government had put forward a “more reasonable and entirely different condensed plan” after “acknowledging the reality of the defeat they were facing.”

After weeks of fierce fighting, the United States and Iran reached a two-week conditional ceasefire on April 8, 2026, thanks to a deal mediated by Pakistan. Under the terms of the ceasefire, both sides will halt military operations, and Iran has agreed to permit the temporary reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz for safe maritime passage, a vital route for global oil supplies.

The truce also sets the stage for further negotiations on a longer-lasting peace, and regional and international actors have welcomed the de-escalation and urged full implementation of the ceasefire.
