Popular Nollywood actor Zubby Micheal has declared his intention to run for the position of House of Representatives in the Ekwusiogo Federal Constituency of Anambra State under the African Democratic Congress.
Zubby Micheal, who officially joined the party today, announced his defection and intention at the same time on his official IG page as he hoisted his official membership card in front of joyous constituency members.
His political inclination has long been coming as he has shown concerns overe recent killings in the country, especially as he weighted in on the Palm Sunday massacre in Jos where scores of people were killed. Zubby Micheal urged all Christians residing in Jos to vacate the city.
Affirrming his decision to be part of the politics in the state, the actor wrote on his announcement post on IG, ‘I dey my village. Enough of talking online, I wan involve’, as seen by ENigeria Newspaper.
It is not the first time that an entertainer and actor would declare interest to run for political offices in Nigeria. In the past, the likes of Funke Akindele, Femi Branch, Bankole Wellington (Banky W), Desmond Elliot, Olumide Oworu, Tonto Dikeh, Kenneth Okwonkwo have all run for one office or the other.
Some entertainers, on the other hand, have been handed political appointments. They include Eniola Badmus, Seyi Law (Oluseyi Aletile), 9ice (Akande Abolore Adegbola), Femi Adebayo, Cute Abiola (Abdulgafar Abiola) and several others.
