Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Akeem Akintunde, Director of Programmes at Ogun State Television and a veteran sports broadcaster.

Governor Abiodun described Akintunde’s death as a significant loss to both the media industry and the state. He noted that Akintunde’s career, marked by dedication, professionalism, and a passion for sports broadcasting, left an enduring legacy.

Despite battling severe health issues, including kidney-related ailments, the late broadcaster remained committed to his work and was respected by colleagues for his diligence and warmth.

Alhaji Akeem Akintunde also served as chairman of the Ogun State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, further cementing his influence in sports journalism.

“His passing marks the end of a remarkable career defined by excellence, passion, and professionalism,” Abiodun said, offering condolences to Akintunde’s family, friends, and the OGTV community.

Akintunde’s colleagues and associates remember him as a dedicated manager and thoroughbred media professional whose contributions will be sorely missed.
