The Kano State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has called on the Presidency and the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) to publicly exonerate its National Leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, from claims linking him to terrorism.

In a statement on Friday, signed by the state Publicity Secretary, Engr. Ibrahim Karaye and gathered by ENigeria Newspaper, the party described the allegations as unsubstantiated and urged immediate clarification to prevent national embarrassment and negative publicity.

“The party reaffirms that its National Leader is a true patriotic Nigerian, evident in his investments in education and human capital development,” the statement said.

The NNPP highlighted Kwankwaso’s record in education and human capital development, portraying him as a patriotic leader whose political choices, including his refusal to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, stem from principled differences rather than security concerns.

The party also cautioned against politicising national security issues and appealed to Nigerians to reject attempts to tarnish the former governor’s image through unverified reports.

ENigeria Newspaper further reports that NNPP further referenced claims that foreign actors, including the United States, may have acted on incomplete information, stressing the need for restraint and due diligence.

NNPP urged the Presidency and NSA to issue a formal statement promptly to clear Kwankwaso’s name and restore public confidence.
