Rt. Honourable Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly has been impeached by member of teh House, ENigeria Newspaper reports.
According to sources, Speaker, Obasa who fell out with ranking member of the Governing Advisory Council of the All Progressives Congress following his 2027 governorship ambition was removed by Lagos House of Assembly members and replaces his Deputy, Hon. Lasbat Meranda has been elected to replace him.
The Deputy Chief Whip, Hon Fatai Mojeed is elected as the Deputy Speaker.
Meanwhile ENigeria Newspaper reports that Obsaa has consistently been engulfed in a series of controversial circumstances in terms of financial dealings including the latest being an alleged padded budget for cars meant for Assembly members.
The terse statement by our source read, “Obasa is impeached and the deputy speaker, Mojisola Meranda elected speaker. Mojeed Fatai is the Deputy Speaker.”
