FilmOne Studios has achieved a major commercial milestone with Oversabi Aunty, starring Toyin Abraham. The film has surpassed the N1.08 billion mark at the Nigerian box office this year, firmly placing it among Nollywood’s highest-grossing theatrical releases.
With a current gross of N1,081,177,001, the success of Oversabi Aunty underscores the strong commercial momentum of the ongoing creative partnership between FilmOne and Toyin Abraham.
In comparison, FilmOne’s 2025 releases, Alakada Bad and Boujee, collectively recorded over N500 million at the Nigerian box office, highlighting the consistent audience pull and market confidence in FilmOne’s productions.
“This milestone is significant not only because Oversabi Aunty has crossed N1 billion, but because of the trajectory it confirms,” said Okwuosa, Group CEO of Filmhouse Group (FilmOne Entertainment, Filmhouse Cinemas, FilmOne Studios), in a statement made available to ENigeria Newspaper.
He added, “The progression from N500 million in 2025 to N1 billion in 2026 reflects sustained audience growth, disciplined execution, and the value of long-term creative partnerships.”
Okwuosa also emphasized that the film’s success highlights FilmOne’s vertically integrated operating model, which ensures seamless collaboration across production, marketing, and distribution.
Ladun Awobokun, Chief Content Officer at FilmOne Entertainment, added: “What stands out is not just the milestone, but the momentum behind it. Growth from N500 million to N1 billion across consecutive years is the result of belief in the talent, operational discipline, and close collaboration across production and distribution. Oversabi Aunty is a strong validation of that approach.”
The achievement of Oversabi Aunty marks another high point in Nollywood’s box office history and reflects the growing appetite of audiences for well-executed, locally produced content.
