As the sudden death of Dr. Vware Diaso continues to stir reactions, the Police have arrested three persons, this is as the investigation continues.
Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Ben Hundeyin has said that the command has launched an investigation into the untimely death of Dr. Vware Diaso who reportedly died in an elevator accident at General Hospital, Odan, Lagos Island.
Hundeyin who also revealed that investigation has commenced, also confirmed news of the arrests on Saturday, but however, refused to mention the names of the suspects who are being interrogated by the Police.
The ugly elevator accident that occurred at General Hospital, Odan, Lagos, leading to the death of Dr. Vware Diaso who was rounding off her horsemanship is still occupying front burners with family and relatives of the deceased vowing to get to the root of the matter.
ENigeria Newspaper reports that insiders alleged that the faulty elevator had been lingering for over two years with the hospital management ignoring calls for its repairs until the unthinkable eventually happened.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, when the deceased, who worked on the 9th floor of the building, wanted to meet a dispatch rider who had brought her the food she earlier ordered online.
The deceased, a graduate of Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, was said to be undergoing her mandatory one-year internship program at the hospital and had less than two weeks to complete the program when the tragedy happened.
The hospital elevator which killed the late Diaso was said to have crashed from the 10th floor to the ground floor.
It was also learned that the late doctor was rushed to the emergency ward of the hospital for treatment but eventually died.
The sources also pointed out that the elevator had malfunctioned several times before the incident, but serious attention was not given to it by the hospital management.
Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu condoling with the family of the deceased, has vowed to get to the root of the doctor’s death through thorough investigation.
