Early Life
Festus Keyamo hails from Effurun in Delta State, Nigeria but was born in Ughelli in the same Delta State on January 21st, 1970.

His parents are Mr Matthias and Mrs Caroline Keyamo, there are no details of Festus Keyamo’s siblings but he has extended relatives.
Festus Keyamo is a divorcé who was once married to Mrs Isioma Irene Keyamo who gave birth to two kids, Nicole and Festus Keyamo Jnr.
Education
Keyamo had his primary education at Model Primary School and secondary education at Government College, Ughelli, where he obtained the West African School Certificate in 1986.
He later proceeded to Ambrose Alli University at Ekpoma, in Edo State where he received a Bachelor of Law degree in 1992 and was called to Bar in December 1993 after attending the Nigerian law school in Lagos.
Career
He started practicing in 1993 at Gani Fawehinmi’s Chambers in Lagos State after which he left to establish his firm, Festus Keyamo Chambers.
He was counsel to the leader of the Niger-Delta Peoples’ Volunteer Force, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari in his trial for treasonable felony and lead counsel in the treason trial of Ralph Uwazuruike, the leader of the Movement For The Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). He was also a counsel in the murder of Bola Ige.
In 2009, Keyamo led the investigation of looted and mismanaged public funds by the leader of the Federal House of Representatives.
He sued the Federal Government of Nigeria over illegal appointments of service chiefs in 2008 and also the sex scandal case between Apostle Johnson Suleman and Canadian-based singer and stripper, Stephanie Otobo.
In April 2018, Keyamo was appointed as the director of Strategic Communications for president Buhari’s re-election campaign in 2019.
He was appointed Minister of State, for Niger Delta, during ex-president Mohammadu Buhari’s second term in office and later redeployed to Ministry of Labour and Employment in 2019.
Awards Received
In 2017, Keyamo was awarded the rank of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), Nigeria .
He received the Global Human Rights Award by the United States Global Leadership Council in Washington in 2017.
He received a national award by former president, Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
In August 2023, Festus Keyamo was made minister of Aviation and Aerospace development by president Bola Tinubu.
