European champions Spain will renew their rivalry with England after the pair were drawn together in League A of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League.

Thursday’s draw in Brussels placed Spain, Croatia and the Czech Republic alongside England in Group A3, setting up a repeat of the Euro 2024 final, where Spain defeated England. Spain lifted the Nations League trophy in 2023 before finishing runners-up last year after a penalty shootout loss to Portugal.

The competition will dominate the European international calendar following the 2026 World Cup, with group-stage fixtures scheduled from September to November. Each team will play home-and-away round-robin matches. The top two sides in each League A group advance to the quarter-finals in March 2027, with the four winners progressing to the finals in June, likely hosted by one of the finalists.

Elsewhere in League A, reigning champions Portugal were drawn in Group A4 with Denmark, Norway and Wales.

Group A1 features France, Italy, Belgium and Turkey.
Group A2 consists of Germany, the Netherlands, Serbia and Greece.
Group A3 contains Spain, Croatia, England and the Czech Republic.
Group A4 includes Portugal, Denmark, Norway and Wales.

League B comprises the following sections: Group B1 has Scotland, Switzerland, Slovenia and North Macedonia. Group B2 includes Hungary, Ukraine, Georgia and Northern Ireland. Group B3 features Israel, Austria, the Republic of Ireland and Kosovo. Group B4 consists of Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Sweden.

In League C, Group C1 contains Albania, Finland, Belarus and San Marino. Group C2 features Montenegro, Armenia, Cyprus and the winner of Latvia versus Gibraltar. Group C3 includes Kazakhstan, Slovakia, the Faroe Islands and Moldova. Group C4 consists of Iceland, Bulgaria, Estonia and the winner of Luxembourg versus Malta.

League D will see the loser of Latvia versus Gibraltar, the loser of Luxembourg versus Malta and Andorra in Group D1, while Group D2 contains Lithuania, Azerbaijan and Liechtenstein. Latvia face Gibraltar and Luxembourg meet Malta in two-legged play-offs in March 2026 to determine their final league placements.
