Al-Nassr head coach Jorge Jesus has explained why Ronaldo vomitted after he was substituted in Al-Nassr win yesterday.
During Al Nassr’s 1-0 victory over Al-Ettifaq on Wednesday, Cristiano Ronaldo, a forward for Portugal, played through exhaustion while experiencing nausea and vomiting.
The coach explained that Ronaldo was ill during Al-Nassr’s match against Al-Ettifaq. He claimed that Ronaldo puked in the locker room after being replaced and experienced cramps and exhaustion during the game.

In the 89th minute of the match, the 41-year-old, who is scheduled to participate in a record sixth World Cup in June, was replaced.
“I was thinking of not including him; he wasn’t in good shape,” Jesus said. “He was suffering from stomach pains and a general feeling of fatigue. When I substituted him, he went straight to the dressing room and threw up.”
He continued to play until the 89th minute of the game despite feeling ill. Three of his ten shots were on target, giving him five more than any other player. Ronaldo also had an attempt cleared off the line and hit the post.
Al-Nassr have now won 15 straight games in the competition and are eight points ahead of Al Hilal at the top of the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo at Saudi Pro League
ENigeria Newspaper can confirm that he trails English forward Ivan Toney of Al Ahli by three goals in the Saudi Pro League standings. He has not been able to top the league’s top-scorers’ charts and for the past two seasons, Ronaldo has finished as the Saudi Pro League‘s leading scorer.
With no significant trophy yet for the Saudi club, the Portuge now edges towards a club league title. Wednesday’s result keeps them firmly in the hunt for their first league crown since the 2018-19 campaign and Ronaldo’s first major title since his arrival at the club in January 2023.
