The mother of the 28-year-old Delta man, Oghenemine Ogidi, aka OG Millan, who was brutally killed yesterday by an ununiformed police officer, has claimed that she has lost two sons to police brutality in two separate incidents.
Her claims are came on the heels of fresh allegations against Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nuhu Usman, who is in detention over the death of her younger son in Delta State.
During a condolence visit to the bereaved family by the former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Delta State Governor, Harrison Gwamnishu and his team met with the mother of the victim and the emotional encounter video came up on Facebook and seen by ENigeria Newspaper. She wept while she told her story.
She note that the pain she was feeling now was not the first, stressing that Oghenemine was her second son to be killed in an incident involving police officers.
“My two children were killed by the police,” she lamented. “They first took my son in 2022, and now they have taken another one from me again. How do I survive this?”, she lamented.
What happened to Mene Ogidi?
Recall that the Delta state police authorities had earlier confirmed that an officer named Nuhu Usman was arrested after the suspect was shot during an operation by operatives attached to the Area Command, Effurun. The Command said the team was acting on intelligence regarding a suspect who allegedly had a firearm.
While the Police said the suspect identified in their report as Mene Ogidi was arrested with a Beretta pistol and ammunition, a viral video circulating on social media sparked widespread controversy. The video appeared to show Mene being restrained, begging for his life before being shot.
