Nottingham Forest have sacked head coach Sean Dyche, marking their second managerial change of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The club confirmed the decision in a brief statement on Thursday, saying Dyche had been “relieved of his duties” and thanking him and his staff for their efforts. Forest added that no further comment would be made at this time.
Dyche, appointed in October 2025 on a contract set to run until the summer of 2027, leaves with the club hovering just above the relegation zone. Forest sit 17th on the table with 27 points after 26 matches, three points clear of 18th-placed West Ham. Burnley are 19th with 18 points, while Wolves remain bottom with nine.
The former Burnley boss endured a difficult run in recent weeks, failing to secure a win in his last three outings. His side were held to a goalless draw at home by Wolves on Wednesday night. In six Premier League games played in 2026, Forest recorded two wins, three draws and two defeats under his watch.
Dyche’s sack comes barely four months after he replaced Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked in October following an eight-match winless streak. Postecoglou had only been appointed in September, with Forest at the time highlighting his extensive managerial résumé, including title-winning spells in Australia, Japan and Scotland.
Forest are yet to name Dyche’s successor as they battle to preserve their top-flight status.
