Ajuri Ngelale Spokesperson of the President while addressing journalists today at the statehouse in Abuja revealed that Nigeria is the country with the least fuel pump price in the whole of African region.
Adding that there is been a significant drop in PMS consumption per day from 67 million to 46 million per day consumption since the President’s deregulation policy was announced upon assuming office, Ngelale also went ahead to appeal to the organized Labour to hold its peace, stating that its threat to embark on a nationwide strike was premature.
He however said that President Bola Tinubu has assured that the government will implement measures to uphold the existing pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol, in the country, without reverting its stance on subsidy removal.
There are inefficiencies between the midstream and downstream petroleum sectors which once cleaned up help maintain prices where they are without further confusion as to the price of fuel.
