The crisis in Rivers State took an interesting turn on Wednesday as a High Court stopped the State Assembly members from impeaching Governor Siminalaye Fubara.
ENigeria News reports that the High Court of Rivers State Holden at Isiokpo, in Ikwerre Local Government Area
today the 1st day of November, 2023 made an interim order restraining the Rivers State House of Assembly, The Speaker of the House, the Deputy Speaker, the Clerk of the House & and the Chief Judge of the State from carrying out any actions with respect to the impeachment of the Governor of Rivers State pending the determination of the Motion on Notice.
The Court however adjourned the Case to the 14th Date of November 2023.
Meanwhile, ENigeria News understands that concerned individuals from Rivers State and at the national level including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had waded into the ongoing feud between the Governor and his former boss, Nyesom Wike who is now the Minister of FCT.
In a video seen by this newspaper, the governor who addressed the press mentioned that it a nothing new for father and son to disagree but being a family affair, the issue with his former boss would be resolved in due course.
