A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has called on opposition parties in Nigeria to prioritize constructive criticism over inflammatory comments that could incite the public against the government.

Oyintiloye emphasized that while opposition parties have the constitutional right to hold the government accountable, their criticism should not destabilize the country or create unnecessary distractions for the Federal Government. He noted that unchecked negative comments and criticisms from the opposition could sow division and foster bitterness among Nigerians, undermining national unity.

The APC chieftain stressed that constructive criticism is essential for fostering good governance, as it involves appreciating good policies and highlighting drawbacks. He urged opposition parties to focus on providing constructive criticism that can help refine policies and ensure better governance.

Oyintiloye also called on the Federal Government to welcome constructive criticism with a sense of responsibility and to engage critical stakeholders during policy formulation to minimize unnecessary opposition during implementation.
