There are strong indications that Willie Obiano, a former governor of Anambra State, has reportedly died in London.
ENigeria News was informed by close acquaintances of the former governor that Obiano died in London following a protracted but lost battle with severe cardiovascular disease and complications related to urinary cancer
Some family sources who spoke to us said, “His health had been declining in the past months, but the final collapse came suddenly. We are devastated.”
Medical officials in London also confirmed that Obiano was receiving intensive care before his condition worsened.
“He fought till the very last moment,” a hospital insider said.
Willie Obiano, 70, was born on 8 August 1955 in Aguleri, Anambra State, and was, until his death, married to Ebelechukwu Veronica Obiano.
He was educated at the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he graduated in 1979.
