An unidentified woman has allegedly abandoned her child and fled over witchcraft claims.

Although this claim has not been confirmed, ENigeria Newspaper can confirm that it obtained the viral video of the little child as she was seen drinking from an unsanitary container, looking hungry, and wearing only a diaper.

The video, as seen by ENigeria Newspaper, gained traction after an X-user, identified as @TheGrandmaBoy, posted it on his official page with the caption, “Concerned neighbours raise alarm concerning a three-year-old toddler that has been literally abandoned by the mother, who believes that she’s a witch and deserves to die.”

@TheGrandmaBoy gave a location in Iyana Ipaja and also requested that authorities step in, claiming that the infant was seen drinking from a filthy plastic container and seemed undernourished.

In response, Ridwan Ajetunmobi, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, announced on Sunday that the state administration had taken action.

” Lagos State Government has rescued the child.

“The child is presently in the custody of the State Government, while the police are investigating the matter. Further update on this will be shared later,” he added.

In order to confirm the claims, he said, Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, and his team tracked down the address.
