The Lagos State Government has taken delivery of of 24-car trains for the Red Line train service.
The addition which is a significant step toward improving urban mobility is expected to strengthen the operational capacity of the Red Line train service, allowing for increased passenger movement and more efficient service delivery across the corridor. Authorities say the expanded fleet will help reduce waiting times at stations while easing congestion during peak hours.
ENigeria Newspaper reports that the Red Line train Service, one of the flagship rail projects aimed at transforming transportation in Lagos, continues to play a critical role in providing an alternative to road travel in one of Africa’s most densely populated cities.
According to officials, the deployment of the new trains aligns with the government’s broader vision of building a modern, reliable, and efficient public transport system that meets the growing demands of Lagosians. The Red Line train plies Agbado-crossing, Iju, Agege, Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba and Oyingbo corridors.
