Former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke has been cleared to contest the presidential primary on the PRP platform. The primary will hold on May 25, and Duke will contest alongside two other aspirants.
ENigeria Newspaper reports that Donald Duke and two other aspirants had earlier rejected a consensus arrangement, and will face party members in the PRP presidential primaries scheduled for Monday.
In a statement by the PRP National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, the party said the aspirants unanimously agreed to submit their ambitions to party members during the nationwide exercise.
The aspirants are Dr Nnaoke Ufere from Abia State, Engr (Dr) Yakubu Mohammed Kingsley from Edo State, and Donald Duke from Cross River State.
“The three cleared presidential aspirants of the Peoples Redemption Party have convened and unanimously agreed to submit their aspirations to the will of our party members during upcoming primaries scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026, across all parts of the country,” Ishaq said.
