Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has passed away in the early hours of today, reports reaching ENigeria Newspaper say.
Media personality Tosin Silverdam has put up a video recently, and cited by ENigeria Newspaper, confirming that the news of his passing away is actually true after speculations that it might be false.
“Someone called me earlier and told me about it. I waited hours later to confirm it before now. Sadly, the story is true. Alex has been off social media for the while due to stories of his ailment”, he said.
“Allegedly, he has been battling cancer. He then in the early hours of today. May his soul rest in peace”, he added.
Who was Alexx Ekubo?
Born on April 10, 1986, Alexx Ekubo-Okwaraeke was a Nigerian actor, entertainer, and humanitarian who was best known for his roles in Nollywood romantic comedies and dramas. He was regarded as one of the most lucrative and versatile talents in modern African cinema. In 2020, the United Nations named him one of the “Most Influential People of African Descent under 40, for his contributions to entertainment and social development throughout the continent.
He was regarded as one of the most lucrative and adaptable talents in modern African cinema and was well recognized for his parts was Nollywood romantic comedies and dramas. He became well-known in the Nollywood hit film Weekend Getaway after placing first runner-up in the 2010 Mr. Nigeria competition.
