Amidst the ongoing political crisis between Seyi Makinde People Democratic Party and the All Progressive Party in the state, veteran Fuji singer Saheed Osupa threw tantrums at Gov. Seyi Makinde during an APC rally in Ibadan.
The popular musician, who also hails from Ibadan city of Oyo state, threw jabs at the governor in Yemetu, Ibadan, when Senator Sharafadeen Alli, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), formally announced his decision to run in front of fans and faithfuls, announced his intention to run for governor.
Osupa, who was invited to play at the event, took advantage of the occasion to give a politically heated performance in which he criticized the concept of “Omituntun 3.0,” a catchphrase linked to the Makinde administration under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and expressed support for Alli.
Additionally, he publicly endorsed Sharafadeen Alli as his favored contender for the 2027 governorship while urging participants not to vote any candidate supported by the governor. He disregarded the political slogan during his performance, implying that the Oyo State people had not received enough of it.

The singer made a reference to the Olubadan whom he described as a his royal and political father, and would ‘go anywhere’ the monarch goes to.
Genesis of problem for Gov. Seyi Makinde
Recall that there appears to be a fallout between the Olubadan and the Oyo state governor after claims and counter claims of impeachment involving the monarch, the governor and the state house of assembly.
ENigeria Newspaper had analysed that the claims and counter claims of impeachment seems like a calculated move to oust Gov. Seyi Makinde out of the political relevance of Oyo state which he hold firmly in his grip. The issue started when former Ekiti state Ayo Fayose, had on Sunday, has accused Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, of plotting to depose Oba Rahidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a swift counter claim, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State raised fresh concerns over an alleged political plot targeting Governor Seyi Makinde. The party claimed that Oba Ladoja was collaborating with Speaker Debo Ogundoyin and Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, the state’s former first lady, to remove Governor Makinde from office. Another allegation said the governor was thinking about taking action against the Speaker due to the Speaker’s alleged political support for the monarch.
However, the state governor was confirmed to have interfered in the impeachment plan of the state assembly speaker yesterday, urging all state house of assembly members to unite amidst hostilities.
