Deji Adeyanju, lawyer and close ally of Omoyele Sowore has mocked him after the later declared his presidential ambition ahead of 2027 elections in Nigeria.
Omoyele Sowore, human rights activist has declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Sowore who was the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), spoke on Friday during Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today.
During his declaration, the publisher of Sahara Reporter said, ‘I’m running to win’.
However, his close ally and fellow activist, Adeyanju who quoted the media report via his verified Facebook account simply added, “Running to win in this Nigeria or another one? Let me face my life ooo. I won’t even leave my house on Election Day”.
ENigeria Newspaper reports that Many Nigerians who reacted to the now-viral post believe Deji was subtly mocking his close ally, whom critics argue may struggle to secure enough votes to win the forthcoming presidential election.
Meanwhile, Sowore disclosed that the AAC will conduct its presidential primaries next week but declined to confirm whether he would emerge as the party’s sole candidate.
