Mark Carney has won the race to become the new leader of Canada’s governing Liberal Party and the country’s next prime minister.
Mark Carney, a central banker-turned-centrist politician, will become the next prime minister of Canada after winning Sunday’s Liberal Party election with nearly 86% of the vote.
ENigeria News reports that Carney, who is married to British economist Diana Fox Carney, replaces longtime Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who announced his resignation in January after a decade in office and a sharp decline in approval ratings.
He’s a graduate of Harvard and Oxford.
