Super Eagles will begin preparations for their upcoming international fixtures with the opening of camp in Antalya, Turkey on Tuesday ahead of friendlies against Iran and Jordan, ENigeria Newspaper has learnt.

The Super Eagles’ Turkey camp opening signals the start of build-up to the two matches, which are part of international friendlies scheduled for the FIFA international window. As for the Super Eagles, the window is supposed to be for the FIFA World Cup intercontinental playoffs had they qualified. Iran and Jordan, on the other hand, are playing these friendlies in readiness for their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaigns.

The Super Eagles’ Turkey camp also comes after organisers moved the fixtures from the Middle East to a neutral venue due to rising regional tensions.

Head coach Eric Chelle has already named a 23-man squad for the games, with a blend of experienced internationals and new call-ups expected to report to camp.

Nigeria will face Iran in their opening fixture on March 27 before taking on Jordan four days later, in what is seen as a key opportunity to test the squad’s readiness.

Regulars such as Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman headline the squad, while new invitees are expected to use the matches to stake a claim for regular roles in the team.

The full squad includes ;

 Goalkeepers: Maduka Okoye; Adeleye Adebayo; Francis Uzoho

Defenders: Calvin Bassey; Oluwasemilogo Ajayi; Bright Osayi-Samuel; Bruno Onyemaechi; Zaidu Sanusi; Igoh Ogbu; Emmanuel Fernandez

Midfielders: Alex Iwobi; Frank Onyeka; Wilfred Ndidi; Raphael Onyedika; Fisayo Dele-Bashiru

Forwards: Ademola Lookman; Samuel Chukwueze; Moses Simon; Chidera Ejuke; Paul Onuachu; Akor Adams; Philip Otele, Collins Yira Sor.

Notable absentees from the sqaud include Victor Osimhen and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

The friendlies are also expected to give the coaching crew a clearer picture of squad depth as Nigeria continues preparations for upcoming qualifiers and competitions.
