WhatsApp is reportedly working on a major redesign of its chat interface as part of efforts to give the messaging platform a cleaner and more modern appearance.
It is anticipated that the upcoming upgrade, dubbed a “Liquid Glass” design, will bring glass like visual effects, smoother animations, and transparent layers across the app.
According to reports, the revamp would update components including backgrounds, message bubbles, and navigation panels to produce a more refined and captivating user experience.
In addition to the visual modifications, the redesign aims to enhance the app’s readability and navigation. Smoother transitions may make navigating the platform feel less congested and more seamless, while the layout will reportedly make it easier for users to discern between chats, media, and control options.
Although Android users are also anticipated to acquire the feature later, it is presently thought that the upgrade is being tested first on iOS devices.
WhatsApp set to remove Avatar feature
In addition to redesigning its user interface, WhatsApp apparently intends to remove its avatar function for both iOS and Android.
Users could design unique digital characters for stickers and profile pictures using the Avatar tool. Reports indicate that users did not find the functionality very appealing, as many of them favored the current sticker alternatives and conventional profile customization tools.
According to reports, WhatsApp is discreetly eliminating avatar-related features in favor of more significant enhancements to the app’s functionality and design.
Why the changes matter
This recent modification demonstrates WhatsApp’s increasing emphasis on useful improvements and an improved user experience.
Cleaner design, more seamless interaction, and enhanced functionality seem to be the company’s top priorities in light of the growing competition for messaging apps, rather than features that didn’t garner much interest.
ENigeria Newspaper understands that no release date has been set for this modification to start.
