Nigerians have begun to react to an old tweet of Alexx Ekubo about cancer after he passed away from a cancer complication yesterday.
Recall that ENigeria Newspaper reported that the former Nigerian actor and entertainer passed away after a prolonged complication from cancer which kept him away from social media for more than a year.
Although there are no official statements from his family yet, tributes have begun to pour in from all his colleagues in the industry and other well-wishers on social media.
In the process, a 2011 tweet from the official X handle of Alexx Ekubo himself which made reference to cancer has began to make the rounds on social media as Nigerians worry that the actor might have been battling with the complication since the time the tweet was made.
“I hope 2 see a day when cancer wrld be just a Zodiac sign…” the tweet had read, and dated 29th of October, 2011.
Reactions
Several tweeps have reacted and instantly felt that the actor was a victim of what he prophecised a long time ago.
@ugomsinachi hoped that the deceased’s wishes could be true someday. He tweeted, ‘It will be one day Chief Ikuku. You will smile from heaven. Naa na udo okenwa Arochukwu. I remember him campaigning against cancer in 2023. So heartbreaking to die from cancer. Rest in peace, Alex.’
