The cost of domestic flights within Nigeria soared by 40% between June 2022 and June 2023.

This information was made available by the National Bureau of Statistics in its most recent Transport Fare Watch report for June 2023.

The research goes into more detail, showing a month-over-month increase of 4.93 percent in the typical rate that airline passengers pay for particular itineraries.

The average fare increased by 40.22% year over year from June 2022, when it was N56,082.64.

The most expensive flights are to Delta State, where they cost N87,000, while the cheapest flights are to Abia State, where they cost N70,000.

With an average ticket of N80,650.00, the North-Eastern region had the highest airfare in June 2023, closely followed by the South-South at N80,000.00.
